The scissors and handheld tools in the catalog show the grip and main structure within one part. For products like these, identify the grip contact areas, visible sections and positions of internal components separately.
For a two-color finish, mark the color boundaries. If two materials are involved, explain the role of each in the grip and main body.
The eyewear examples illustrate part shapes and color combinations. Marking the areas where colors or materials should change in front, side or detail views makes the desired appearance easier to understand.
Identify the different areas of the frame as well as the colors. For combinations of more colors or materials, discuss equipment alongside the injection configuration and mold arrangement.
When other components are placed in the mold before injection, the inserts are part of the product specification. Show their shape, the areas exposed after molding and their relationship to the plastic in separate annotations.
This application also requires planning for loading, holding inserts in position and unloading. See the rotary-table process overview to discuss how multiple stations work together.
